The rule of the power ON /  OFF:
Power On :
     Source
power ON ---->    Compass 384 power ON ----> Amp power ON
Power Off:
    Amp power OFF
---->  Compass 384 power OFF   ---> Source power OFF .

384KHz / 24bit support: Foobar 2000 V1.15 WASAPI output model   (DS output model support up to 24bit / 192KHz)

Setting the Compass 384 install the WM8741 module:
     
  1, Turn off the Compass 384 and pull off the power cable .
        2, Take off the top chassis.
        3, Take off the 4 screws on the DA module, pull off the DA module careful.
        4, Push into the WM8741 module proper , screw back the 4 screws.

Exchange the OPA for different sound flavors:
     
  1, Turn off the Compass 384 and pull off the power cable .
        2, Take off the top chassis.
        3, Take off the original OPA chip careful .
        4, Push into the OPA proper, connect the ground wire as the photo on right side.
       ( The OPA only effect the sound flavor of line in . The built in DAC have not OPA in the signal channels . If users want to change the sound flavors , can exchange the DA modules . )

Setting warmer sound for Line in:
     
  1, Turn off the Compass 384 and pull off the power cable .
        2, Take off the top chassis.
        3, Push into two jumpers .

Setting the Compass 384 had I2S input:
     
  1, Turn off the Compass 384 and pull off the power cable .
        2, Take off the top chassis.
        3, Take off the 3 screws on the USB module, pull off the USB module careful.
        4, Push into the I2S kit to the sockets.



I2S define:
( 3.3V level ,  we can't guarantee the I2S input can cooperate with all I2S output devices.
( The I2S transmit want to take care the transmit cable  )

Pin 1 : SDATA
Pin 3 : LRCK
Pin 5 : SCLK
Pin 7 : MCLK
Pin 2,4,6,8 GND

How to set the Compass 384 Line output as variable or fixed level ?
   
The Compass 384 has one group  line output, In default its output level setting is at variable model . If users only want the fixed model , change the jumper as below picture .
      (Be care, if the Compass 384 line output connect to a non volume control amp or active speaker ,  setting to variable output model only . The headphone output always have volume control. )

Setting the bit and sampling transfer:
     
Win 7 :The Compass 384 have driver control panel can setting the bit and sampling , we are recommend setting at 32 bit transfer for the best transfer  . (Once users setting 32bit in driver control panel, the Windows device audio control panel will appear 32bit option .)
     In Mac OSX have not driver install necessary , so there is have not driver control panel but users can setting in the OSX MIDI option panel .


The Compass 384 Functions:
     Front plate:
    
HP/DAC switch:        Select output between headphone and preamp output ( Variable level) or DAC output ( Fixed level).
    
Gain switch:             Select gain between low gain (+0DB) and high gain (+12DB).
    
Volume knob:           Control the volume level of the headphone and variable preamp output.
     Line In:                    Select working for built in DAC and Line in either .
     Selector
:                  Select source between USB, coaxial and optical.   

     Rear:
     USB socket:            For USB input.
     Opt socket:              For optical input.
     Coax socket:           For coaxial input.
     Line In sockets:       For analog signal input.
     Line Out sockets:    For
headphone and preamp output ( Variable level) or DAC output ( Fixed level).

Two digital filter setting :

Don't push into jumper:  Applied IIR Low Latency  Interpolation Filters
       

Push into the jumper : Applied FIR Normal  Interpolation Filters

Please note:
     Please shut down the Compass 384.
     If the input sampling higher than the Compass 384 setting sampling, maybe cause some noise output.
