2021 DAC models upgrade guide

Below has included all information, won't reply any email about the upgrade.
Please note: If the product damage by the incorrect modify that without warranty, customer must pay the fee for shipping and repair.

R-7,R-7HE:
Impossible upgrade by self.
　

R-8,R-8HE and R-27 upgrade modules (Exclude the rear update port upgrade, it has not effect on sound quality ):

         Purchase the USB and HDMI with isolator modules from us, replace in the unit with wires pull and push without soldering necessary , then update the firmware to finished the upgrade .
Price: (Exclude shipping cost) (The modules test work fine before ship, after shipping without warranty.)
Amanero + Duplex isolator : USD114 (If only upgrade the USB + Duplex isolator, you had to swap the HDMI output wires by yourself. It want to update the 2021 edition firmware .)

HDMI + Isolator : USD50. (If only upgrade the HDMI + Isolator, you had to solder two wires to the isolate power output ports . This upgrade option don't want update the FPGA firmware , and we consider this upgrade sound is not as good as with 2021 edition firmware.)

Amanero + Duplex isolator + HDMI + Isolator : USD148. (Only want to pull off the wires of the original modules, take off the modules , assemble the new modules and push into the wires.It want to update the 2021 edition firmware .)

When customer get the modules, connect the wires to the HDMI, USB and the power supply sockets to finish the upgrade.

R-1 and R-28 upgrade DIY (Exclude R2R-1):
        If user has the good DIY and soldering skill, you can upgrade it by yourself without any money spend.
        Please note: If the product damage by the incorrect modify that without warranty, customer must pay the fee for shipping and repair.
        If customer can not ensure the modify , contact us purchase finished the USB and HDMI modules ,replace in the unit with wires pull and push,no soldering necessary, only update the firmware is ok.
1， HDMI module original output wires’definitions.



2，Use a small tool as below, push the reeds in the white connector to take off the MCK and BCK wires.

3，Push the MCK wire to the original BCK position of the white connector, and push the BCN wire to the original MCK position of the white connector, and then solder off the original MCK wire from the HDMI module.

4， USB module output wires’ definitions.

5， Use the same small tool to take off the BCK and MCK wires, swap the position on the white connector . Solder off the original MCK wire from the USB module. In fact if you have the skill and good quality wires , you can replace the original MCK wire by a good quality wire.

6，Solder remove the two clocks and the beside two resistors . The two pins of the smaller chip that on the right upon , solder together .Solder the two wires on the USB module that had mark on below photo.

7,The finished upgrade unit as below photos, at last update the FPGA firmware and restart the unit. Done.
